Stewardship Pledging 2023 - 2024
This year we’re asking all our members to increase your monthly pledge by 10% or $10 per month, whichever is greater. This Greater 10 or 10 Pledge will fund the expansion of our RE programs, ensure that our new staff get the training they need to help our congregation thrive, and open up exciting new possibilities in the year ahead.

Stewardship Testimonials
“This year our family is making our first pledge to support First Universalist. From our earliest days back home with a pledge of $80/year to this year when our circumstances are much improved, we’ve always sought to support the building of beloved community in our local UU congregations. Together we can build the world we dream about and bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice, but doing so takes the combined efforts and resources of all of us.
– Rev. Eric Banner
First Universalist Church of Denver Senior Minister
In the words of Dr. Seuss:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
There are many reasons why I pledge my time, talent, AND treasure.
In the almost 6 years that I’ve been a member here, I have learned so much and grown so much as a person. After a lifetime of being told how to act and what to believe, I feel like I have finally come into my own. I know who I am and have a freedom and liberty that I’ve never really experienced before. I’ve found real fulfillment, happiness, and purpose, and really feel compelled to “give back.” So in the last couple of years I’ve started volunteering and working with several of the committees and groups that help organize and facilitate the many causes and programs of this church—all in an effort to further our Mission, to offer community for connection, renewal and transformation and in keeping with the theme of our pledge drive, to build beloved community, inside and outside our walls—together.
We all understand that in addition to time and talent, it also takes treasure to fund the budgets of all these important causes and programs. I pledge financial support so that the things that are important to me can continue to be made available for others who are also looking for a welcoming and non-judgmental community filled with freedom and shared with others who are doing their best to promote justice and equity.

A Guide to Giving
Planning your pledge is a personal decision, based on your level on engagement with First Universalist and your household’s budget. We know many in our community have been impacted financially by the pandemic. If that applies to you, please consider reducing your pledge, staying at the same level, or asking Rev. Eric for a waiver. If you are in a position to do so, we hope you will consider increasing your pledge.
