On the second Sunday of each month, we ask members and friends to bring non-perishable food donations for Integrated Family Community Services and blankets, diapers, socks, deodorant and unopened toiletries for an organization serving homeless individuals and families (recipient organizations rotate). This coincides with our monthly potluck, and representatives from our social justice groups at church are available to discuss their work with you and let you know how you can get involved. When we come together to share a meal in community, we also share our hopes for justice in the wider world.


Social Justice Sundays are every second Sunday of the month.  During these Sundays, the SJC is collecting donations for IFCS (nonperishable food items) and the Homeless Justice Task Force (see page for details). In the monthly Happenings email, you can find what specific items are being collected for each month. Donations are collected at the main door as you walk in. All items should be new and unopened.

Baby supplies (diapers and baby wipes)  and personal hygiene items (shampoo and conditioner;  body wash and lotions; toothbrushes and toothpaste; and hairbrushes and combs).

The shelter itself needs cleaning products, detergent, toilet paper and paper towels

Task Force Presentations

On Social Justice Sundays you can also learn more information about specific Task Forces and their current work, including ways to get involved with the task force and volunteering opportunities. One task force is featured each month and will be at the featured table in the hall outside the cafeteria. PLEASE stop by to learn about this important community work. Other task forces with upcoming events will also have some presence. For example, you can buy your fair trade coffee to support Habitat on Social Justice Sundays, even when they aren’t the featured task force.
