Motion for Sustainable Energy System

Approved by unanimous vote
November 6, 2016 at a Special Congregational Meeting
First Universalist Church of Denver

Whereas on April 3, 2016, the Congregation approved BFF’s church renovation and construction proposal to include “solar and geothermal systems supported by external investments and approved by the Board of Trustees;”
And whereas on October 4, 2016, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a Net Zero Carbon Sustainable Energy System (attached to this motion as Exhibit 1), including design, cost, and member loan components;
It is therefore moved:
That the congregation of First Universalist Church of Denver authorize its Board of Trustees to borrow up to $240,000 from a partnership of individual church members repayable over 15 years at 1.5% interest, without collateral or lien on church property, for the purpose of completing payment for the Net Zero Carbon Sustainable Energy System.
