We meet on the fourth Monday of each month. Newcomers are always welcome, and those present select a new text to read for the next month. We read both fiction and non-fiction, always with a focus on social justice. Contact Ian Jaffe: email@example.com or 303-941-8891.
Social Justice Book Club
For our September selection, we decided on The Plot to Hack America by Malcolm Nance. Nance investigates the topic of possible Russian interference in the 2016 election, which raises interesting questions for people passionate about justice. The first Cold War was a critical backdrop to major social justice struggles. If we’re on the verge of a second Cold War, what does that mean for us? If the Russian government influenced the election, what else will they influence?
Until First Universalist reopens, we’re going to continue meeting at Stella’s Coffee House. The next meeting is on September 25th at 7:00 PM.
