You Are Welcome!

About Our Group
Our group is comprised of of individuals, couples, and families. While we share some life experiences and perspectives, we are diverse with respect to our identities and thus welcome all young adults of good will. Openness and mutual respect for each of our inherent worth and dignity is a cornerstone of this Young Adult Group. We gather to have fun, support one another, and grow together.
First Sunday Lunch
On the first Sunday of each month, we go to lunch after the second service (11 a.m.). The location changes each month, so please check The Sunday Bulletin or our Facebook page for restaurant information every month. The more the merrier, so whether you are a "regular" or new to the group, we invite you to meet us at the Welcome Desk after service and join us for a good meal in good company!
Theology on Tap
What exactly is UU theology? What does it mean for young adults? We may not have all the answers but we know that we can sort out many things over a nice cold beverage. We meet on the third Monday of each month from 7:00-10:00 p.m. The location changes monthly, but we always choose a venue that offers food as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. If you're under 21 or don't enjoy alcohol, you'll still have a great time! Past topics include: "What is Unconditional Love?" "What is Theology to You?" and "Morality and Responsibility." Please feel welcome to join us for an ever-changing discussion about UU theology.
Abundance! Young Adult and Young at Heart Worship
Once a month on a Friday night, we travel to join other local UU young adults in their congregations, or we may serve as the host here at First Universalist of Denver. Abundance! worship focuses on how to live abundantly in a challenging world. Each service combines the spoken word, excellent music, and experiential moments such as movement, spontaneous art, and dialogue. We start off Abundance! evenings at 6:00 p.m. with a potluck dinner that always promises lively conversation and socializing, followed by a 7:00 p.m. service. As both location and week date change from month to month, please check our FaceBook page for more information.
Chalice Circles are groups of 8-12 young adults who meet with a leader or co-leaders for weekly in-depth discussion and examination. Over the course of several weeks, Chalice Circles may focus on just one agreed upon theme or goal. Or, a group may choose to examine or a series of topics during their desiginated weeks. While we understand that sometimes the unexpected happens, including life cicumstances beyond your control, our hope for each Chalice Circle is for each member to apporach a circle with the intent of attending each meeting.
Due to the level of trust required to create an atmosphere in which true emotional sharing and support can freely occur, once a Chalice Circle is formed, the circle is closed from additional particpants. New circles can be formed however, when ever we have enough people interested in both creating and leading another circle. Members who have completed one Chalice Circle are welcome to sign up for another circle, as well as express their interest in leading a circle. Please contact Rev. Jeannie Shero Hufstedler, Assistant Minister at email@example.com for more information and request to be placed on the Chalice Circle waiting list.
Watch our Facebook page for information about these events.
