Green First Task Force
The seventh Unitarian Universalist principle is: "Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." First Universalist is very active in promoting eco-friendly attitiudes. While there always more to be done, First Universalist was certified as a Green Sanctuary in 2010. Our projects range from education to making eco-friendly changes to the building and grounds.
- One of our proudest achievements is the adoption of a portion of the South Platte River. Usually on the first Saturday of each month, a group of First Universalists can be found enjoying coffee while picking up trash along the river. Please check our calendar for specific times and dates.
- Other intiatives include converting the church grounds to feature an edibles landscape. We are working with Feed Denver and hope to have gardens planted in 2013. Also, we have been exploring the possibility of installing solar panels and are seeking favorable funding.
- Green First is the team that oversees our green efforts.
